Often seen across London and other cities as converted shipping container bars & food outlets at festivals, pop up events & entertainment venues. These open side containers are ideal for modifications, as well as storing pallets or larger, bulkier items which cannot fit through the standardized cargo doors.
20ft side opening containers have standard cargo doors at one end, and large doors which open all the way down the right hand side panel. This allows unrestricted access when loading using a forklift truck/ telehandler. it also means you can unload a specific part of the container, without having to empty it from the cargo door end.
This special type of container is harder to come by in the UK, as fewer of them are manufactured in China and shipped over. As a result of this, they are over twice the price of a standard 20ft shipping container.
Customer Requirement
This particular Boxtor customer required two 20ft containers for a project taking place on local farmland. They needed the containers to open fully on one side, to allow for quick and easy access to items stored within.
Our recommendations
When our client explained they were looking to use the containers on the farm site as a mobile bar and entertainment space, we immediately recommended the 20ft open side container. We luckily had two come into our East London depot.
