Boxtor had the pleasure of recently supplying and delivering 2 x 40’ New High Cube bespoke, modified shipping containers for an expanding street food business based near Norwich who operate around the UK.
About Our Client
Amor Street Food is a growing street- food operator based in Norwich specializing in weddings, local pop ups, commercial festivals and both corporate & hospitality events of all kinds.
Their food offering includes:
- Delicious fried chicken (triple dipped in ginger beer batter!).
- Waffles.
- Cornish Dair Scooped Ice Creams.
- Peri fries, home made sauces and home made gravy.
Simon approached Boxtor as he was in real need of secure, smart & visually appealing additional storage space at his site to cater for the growing demands of his street food company. He required a cost effective and durable on site storage solution. The 40ft high cubes (chosen for there huge storage capacity) will be transformed into both an office, store room and kitchen/ food prep area which will all be installed within the containers after they are delivered.
The project Brief
Amor approached Boxtor seeking two fully customised 40ft High-Cube shipping containers, finished in dark green RAL 6007, with anti-vandal kirncroft 10 point locking access doors and steel anti vandal windows with shutters. These units would serve as a multipurpose base for kitchens, preparation areas, and office space/ extra storage of stock/ equipment etc.
Key requirements included:
- High-cube internal height to accommodate kitchen equipment, office space and ventilation systems
- Anti-vandal features for security to ensure all stock / equipment is kept clean, dry and locked up safely.
- Aesthetic integration with the sites natural surroundings (green helping with the rural trees / vegetation nearby.
- Compliance with local environmental health and commercial use guidelines
The Solution
- Container Specification:
- 2 × 40ft New High-Cube Shipping Containers (highest spec)
- External finish: Dark Green (RAL 6007) Bottle Green
- New (one-trip) condition ensuring a clean, corrosion-free base structure, giving 30 + years of use!
- High-cube design providing an internal height of approx. 2.7m for improved workspace comfort/ storage capacity.
- Both the windows and doors were carefully measured to ensure we placed them within the side frames of the container.
- Anti-Vandal Modifications – To protect the units during closed hours and ensure long-term durability, both containers were fitted with:
- Steel anti-vandal personnel access doors
- Lockable anti-vandal shuttered windows
- Reinforced door frames and tamper-resistant fixings
- High-security padlock boxes

- Delivery & On-Site Coordination
Both containers were delivered using HIAB articulated lorry with mounted cranes due to limited access at the site. Our installation team:
- Coordinated timed delivery first thing in the AM
- Positioned the units accurately onto pre-prepared ground pads
- Ensured all access points aligned with the customer’s planned site layout
Outcome
Amor Street Food were thrilled with the end result, and from initial enquiry with Boxtor to point of delivery, we had the doors and windows fitted and delivery booked in within just a few weeks!
