Boxtor recently supplied 2 x no. nearly new (2022 YOM) ex hire fleet containers to a customers site in Frome, Somerset. From initial enquiry to delivery, David received his 2 x 20’ containers within a week at his farm site in Somerset.
About this Job
David required 2 x 20ft storage units with easy open handle (3 locking bar). He did not mind what colour the containers were (ideally dark green or dark blue), but he did want to save some money by purchasing ‘nearly new’ units. We had a pair of these come back off hire and into our depot in Southampton. We spruced them up, cleaned them extensively and got them ready for a speedy turnaround & delivery to site.
A wagon and drag HIAB lorry was utilised for this job, due to limited site access not being suitable for the much larger articulated trucks.
Thank you to David for his 5 star review:
About this container type
Ex hire fleet containers are always in good condition. They make for a sensible option when choosing a high-quality second-hand unit. They have still done only 1 trip over from the Far East, and then been used for much of their life on domestic UK hires at different clients’ sites for onsite static storage.
In this instance, both these 20ft RAL 5013 dark blue containers were used for an 18 month hire since they arrived in the UK. They are still in very good ‘1 trip’ condition but show general signs of ware and tare.
This makes for a more affordable option than a brand-new container (1 trip/ new) which will of only just arrived in the UK carrying cargo over.
Save yourself a bit of money and consider our ex hire fleet units! These can vary from being used on 1 or 2 hires only (usually around a year or two old), or units that are a little more ‘weathered’ and may have been used on several hire jobs, but still a really good quality second hand box.
If appearance is important to you, and you want a ‘mint’ brand new container, then spend that little bit extra and go for a brand-new unit.
We usually sell containers in TWO categories:
- NEW (1 TRIP)
- USED (WIND AND WATERTIGHT)
However, within these options, there are 5 types if we are going to be specific:
- 1 trip/ New (shipped once only from the far east factory, usually carrying cargo)
- IICL / Nearly New (shipped once only , or shipped a number of times but still in mint condition for a used container)
- Ex hire (1 trip but been used for UK domestic hires)
- CARGO WORTHY (for shipping use / static storage use – these units are ideal for export shipping as they will have a valid CSC plate with 12 months validity for shipping use)
- WIND AND WATERTIGHT (in sound condition, weather resistant and cosmetically in good condition for a used container)
