Boxtor had the recent pleasure of supplying a large UK based container self-storage provider with our bespoke, factory made multidoor (multi storage compartment) units. After meeting this company at the Self Storage Association UK Conference 2025 in Telford (where Boxtor displayed its double stacked shipping containers and bespoke galvanised staircases and landings), the storage firm placed a bespoke factory order for 2 x 20ft multidoors in RAL 6007 bottle green, to match the existing 20ft containers they already had at their site.
The 20ft 4 door type (4 x individual storage compartments which offer 40 sq ft individual storage units/ lockers) is one of our most popular sizes/ specifications that we supply to the UK market, specifically with the self storage sector in mind.
For our valued client here, a wagon and drag (rigid HIAB crane lorry with draw bar trailer) was used to deliver the units and safely offload them on site.

The Specification for the Multidoor Containers

As they are made to order, they usually carry around a 13-14 week lead time from confirmed order to delivery on site.
Did you Know
These units are ‘shipped empty’, without cargo inside them as the steel divider walls and lack of cargo doors on the ends means they are freighted empty to the UK, with shipping lines choosing not to load cargo within this type of shipping container.
What does this mean
As they do not carry cargo, the inside walls, paint and flooring will be immaculate as they arrive in the UK in as new condition. Like any shipping container, they may show slight scratches/scuffs on the corner posts etc but we will do our best to touch them up at our depots prior to delivery as we understand appearance is key for our clients.
