Sometimes, standard shipping container lengths of 10ft, 20ft and 40ft don’t quite fit the spatial requirements of the site they need to go to. This however is not a problem! Shipping containers can be ‘cut down’ and adapted to be a particular length. We received an enquiry for a used shipping container to be delivered to a customers house in Aintree, Merseyside.
Paul’s driveway would only allow a container that was 16ft in length to be placed along the fence adjacent to the road. Although shipping containers must be shipped using original cargo doors, as they must be ISO standard for international shipping, this does not mean that you as the customer therefore must have this door type. Cargo doors are heavy and require 4 locking bars to be twisted before opening them. Paul requested for a special personnel door fitted instead for ease of access. With a single locking bar, this allows the doors to be opened in less than half the time! This container was then resprayed in RAL 6005 (moss green) and a lockbox was fitted for added security, which would shield the padlock once this was placed on the container.
Our local HIAB lorry delivered the modified container from our Liverpool depot directly to the customers house in Aintree, Merseyside. Andy skillfully lifted the container off the back of the HIAB truck and over the customers garden wall, placing it exactly where Paul wanted it. It now sits happily on his driveway, storing large numbers of used car tires for his business.
Paul Stutt: “Thank you very much Boxtor. I would recommend you to any one if they needed a container. You delivered it ahead of schedule which made my life even better!”
