More About the Enquiry
Stiches and Glue reached out to Boxtor for the supply and delivery of a bespoke 15’ new shipping container. For info, 15’ is NOT a standardised length of container. Standard sizes are 6′, 8’, 10’, 20’ (most popular) and 40’ lengths.
The site in Twickenham had limited space for a 20ft unit, so we therefore shortened the length of the 20ft unit, cutting it down to 15’ total length. The shipping containers original ‘front end’ wall and corner castings were retained and welded back in situ, therefore appearing as an original 1 trip unit but 5’ shorter!
When cutting down containers, you can either ‘retain the original walls’ or ‘cut and shut’ – the latter being where a flat panel steel wall is inserted instead of retaining the original container panel walls. For this enquiry, we retained the original walls and corner castings.
At Boxtor, we can cut a shipping container to any required length – just let us know your requirements and we can quote you!
This new 15’ container was finished in the following high specification for our client:
- 3 locking bar easy open door type with rubber handle
- Entire external repaint in RAL 1013 OYSTER WHITE paint. Click here to view video or the repainting
- 1 x kirncroft personnel door (10 point locking) added for side access to unit
- Internal graffo therm anti condensation treatment to interior ceiling/ roofline of 15ft container
- Entire internal repaint in RAL 7035 light grey
We delivered this bespoke unit on a rigid HIAB lorry which safely lifted and placed the shipping container to the floor onto concrete pads in the car park area.
