Alexander got in touch with Boxtor as he required a 20’ double door (tunnel) shipping container for a long term storage solution at his address in Milton Keynes. He required the container to be completely resprayed in RAL 6007 bottle green, so that it looked ‘brand new’ without a scratch (like it had just been rolled off the production line!)
What is a 1 trip (New Container)
For info, all containers supplied in the UK are described as 1 trip (as close as you can get to New condition). These container have been built in the Far East (usually China) and are filled with cargo, shipped once only to the UK. Once emptied, they return to our depots where we clean them and inspect them to ensure they are in sound, 1st trip condition. They are then delivered out to sites across the UK and look as good as new! If appearance is very important, we can touch up your container for you so that there are no scratches of blemishes. Just let us know first!
Benefits of a 20ft Double Door Container
20’ double doors (AKA tunnels) have a set of cargo doors at both ends, so the container can be opened from the front and rear end. These containers are proving very popular for self storage sites who often put a long row of them down one ‘aisle’ and split them in half to create 2 x 10ft storage containers (with access at either end). We can quote you to supply welded in steel partitions which we fit bespoke prior to delivery. When mapping out your self storage site, consider putting in 20’ Double Doors as they are cheaper than purchasing new standalone 10ft containers.
Keeping Condensation at Bay...
Alexander also concerned about ensuring there was no possibility of condensation building up within the storage unit during winter months. This is due to the fact he was storing high value tools and electrical items inside his double door container. The container will be used as a static workshop, with racking installed down one side of the unit once delivery had taken place.
Graffotherm - What is It?
We therefore pointed him in the direction of graffotherm treatment, a great solution for keeping condensation at bay! Graffo treatment is an anti condensation treatment which is applied to the interior roof of the container. This layer of chemical foam treatment is applied and dries to the interior roof, preventing condesnation droplets from forming during changes in temperature (most prevalent during winter months with the cold evenings setting in).
If you wish to have anti condensation treatment applied, let us know and we can quote for this on your shipping container (s).
We successfully delivered the container with Lee and his rigid HIAB lorry. Alexander and the team were thrilled with the container and gave us a glowing review below.
