Customer Requirement
Our customer required a manual roller shutter door to be fitted to a new (1 trip) 20ft dark green shipping container. We removed the 3 locking bar ‘easy open’ doors that our new containers come with, and replaced this with a manual roller door mechanism.
Our client wanted to paint the galvanized steel door himself on site, so we left it ASIS for him once fitted to keep the costs down.
A rigid HIAB lorry was used for delivery as access was limited on site in Carshalton, Surrey.
The Container
The traditional shipping container comes fitted with a standard set of cargo doors at one end of the unit. These cargo doors can however be removed and replaced with other door options.
We sometimes get enquiries which ask us if we can remove the cargo container doors, replacing them with either manual or electric roller shutter doors. This allows a ‘garage door’ style entrance to the unit, with floor to ceiling access through the open roller door.
