Boxtor recently supplied a selection of factory-built 20ft and 40ft 4-Door Multidoor shipping containers to a leading self-storage operator, supporting the continued development of its storage facilities.
The customer required a very specific container configuration that would provide multiple individually accessible storage spaces while maintaining a consistent appearance across its existing sites.
Rather than adapting standard stock containers, Boxtor arranged a dedicated factory order for the required 4-door units, manufactured in RAL 5013 Dark Blue to match the operator’s existing containers and wider site branding.
The project included the delivery of a 20ft 4-Door Multidoor container and a 40ft 4-Door Multidoor container to a facility near Stoke-on-Trent, alongside a further 20ft 4-Door Multidoor container for another of the operator’s UK facilities.
The Requirement
For established self-storage operators, expanding a site isn’t simply about adding more containers. New units need to work alongside the existing facility, provide the right mix of rentable storage spaces and maintain a consistent, professional appearance.
For this project, the customer required:
20ft and 40ft Multidoor configurations
Four individually accessible storage compartments within each container
Factory-built units manufactured specifically to their requirements
RAL 5013 Dark Blue paintwork
A finish consistent with containers already operating across their sites
Delivery to multiple self-storage facilities
The 4-door configuration was particularly important, allowing the operator to divide the footprint of a larger shipping container into smaller, individually accessible storage units.
The End Result
Following discussions with the customer, Boxtor arranged the manufacture of a dedicated factory order built to the operator’s exact specification.
The order included:
1 x 20ft 4-Door Multidoor Container
The 20ft Multidoor configuration provides four individual storage compartments within a single 20ft container footprint, making it particularly well suited to customers requiring smaller storage spaces.
1 x 40ft 4-Door Multidoor Container
A larger 40ft Multidoor unit was supplied to the same facility, providing additional storage capacity while retaining the convenience of multiple separately accessible compartments.
1 x 20ft 4-Door Multidoor Container – Additional UK Facility
A further 20ft unit was manufactured to the same specification and supplied to another facility operated by the same customer.
All three containers were finished in RAL 5013 Dark Blue, ensuring the new units integrated seamlessly with the operator’s existing container fleet and maintained a consistent appearance across multiple sites.

The result was a series of new storage units that could be incorporated into the existing facilities while maintaining a smart, professional and consistent appearance.
