Boxtor were very pleased to be awarded the contract for the supply and delivery of New (1st trip) storage containers to Cambridge City Council.
About the Project
The council worked closely with our team to ensure we supplied the correct specification and size of storage unit for the requirements. The area where the containers were being offloaded had adequate space for 2 x no. 10ft storage units and 2 x no. 20ft storage units.
After detailed communications between Boxtor and the council, and one point of contact throughout the entire process from point of order to delivery on site (something which we ensure on every order with us!), the delivery was carried out to site on time and within the tight timelines.

- Provided factory drawings to ensure the units supplied met the client’s expectations.
- The size of lorry we would deliver on to ensure access into the site was suitable.
- ETA’s and lead times throughout, including on the day of delivery.
Specification of the Containers Ordered
The 10ft and 20ft storage containers supplied were matching in specification and colour, with 3 locking bar ‘easy open doors’, multiple air vents, factory fitted lockboxes and PSF easy clean flooring all as standard.
The 10ft Shipping Containers offer 80 sq ft of internal storage space/ capacity.
The 20ft Shipping Containers offer 160 sq ft of internal storage space/ capacity.

We supply the highest specification of storage unit available in the UK market. These units are available for Purchase, Rental (both short and long term) or lease purchase*.
10ft and 20ft New (1st trip) containers are available from Boxtor in RAL 6007 dark green & RAL 5013 dark blue. We can also supply them in RAL 5010 on request when stocks are available, as well as any other paint colour, should you wish to place a factory order with us*.
*minimum order quantity for factory order is 10 x units for 10ft containers, and 20 x units for 20ft containers. *T&C’s apply.
Did you Know
Boxtor manufactures our own brand new 10ft storage containers on a monthly basis at our partner factories in the Far East. Built to the highest industry specifications, we ensure our units are supplied to clients in the best condition and best specification.
10ft New ISO shipping containers are freighted over to the UK without carrying cargo inside. They are often used to carry smaller 8ft storage containers inside them so that the freight costs are shared between the 10ft and the smaller 8fts. It is best to ship these carrying the smaller units inside the 10fts too (financially due to the cost of freighting), with these smaller units proving increasingly popular with our self storage clients.
They are shipped over as an ‘interlocked set’ – creating 1 TEU (twenty foot equivalent unit), with 2 x 10fts being locked together to create essentially a 20ft standard ISO unit!
Please do bare in mind that freight rates fluctuate throughout the year (very seasonal / impacted by Chinese New Year and Christmas shipping period etc) so pricing will vary on them.
