What is a Platform Flat Container
A platform flat container is a specialised shipping container designed for oversized or heavy loads.
It features a reinforced steel or wooden deck but no side walls or roof, making it ideal for carrying large machinery, vehicles, or awkwardly shaped items that can’t fit inside a standard shipping container.
Cargo is typically secured using straps or chains and loaded with cranes or forklifts for stability and safety during transport.
The platform’s flooring, also known as its ‘Deck’ is always made of either Steel or Wood. The former being preferred as steel decked platforms are more robust and heavy duty, for carrying larger and heavier cargo.
